Here is where new ideas, old ideas, articles and thoughts; maybe even new discoveries about ourselves and the world around us, will be posted.  This will be the page that changes most often and really has no set critiria about what you’ll find here.  Enjoy.

Last Chance Gulch now called Helena Montana

The story goes that two prospectors were running from the Blackfoot Indians and were trying to make their way back to Alder Gulch before their supplies ran out or they lost their hair.  They decided to make one last camp before they pushed on; that’s when gold was discovered in Last Chance Gulch and also how it got it’s name.  Rumor has it that around 15 years ago, one of the banks that are now located along the street named Last Chance Gulch made the discovery of a tunnel in it’s basement.  Turned out the tunnel wasn’t for anyone getting into the bank, instead it was being used by a bank employee, of fairly high up status, who was mining gold from under the bank building and the adjoining community.  Can’t prove either one of these stories is true, but they do make pretty good stories.
